Tonsley VIEW Club
About
Tonsley VIEW Club was formed in 2021.
Our Club has grown quickly comprising of approximately 68 Members who sponsor ten, Smith Family Learning for Life students and is actively involved in fundraising activities to raise donations for The Smith Family programs. These include a Fashion Parade in May 2024 with details below.
We also have fun at lots of social outings, including Coffee Mornings and visits to places of interest in Adelaide and the Hills area. We visited Hans Heysen’s home, The Cedars, and Studios, near Hahndorf, recently.
The third birthday of our Club will occur in October 2024. As a relatively new Club we are working hard to support the ten LfL students whom we sponsor. We also have lots of fun.
We always welcome visitors, so please get in touch with our contact, President Deb, and come and enjoy one of our monthly luncheons and guest speaker.

We were fortunate to have the Heysen Curator of 33 years, Allan, guide us on a tour of Hans Heysen’s Studio in original condition, the Heysen family home, and also daughter Norah’s Studio. It was amazing to see so many originals in this setting.
Delicious scones and morning tea finished the Tour in the Café.

This year our Club was offered volunteer marshall positions to close street traffic with our Stop signs, as the Pelotons whizzed past us. The $50 we earned doing this each time, was donated to our VIEW Club account. Nine of us and some partners volunteered and raised $1550 to start our year fundraising. It was a lot of fun and we met great community members, including “Mr S.A.” Keith Conlon OAM , named for his huge contribution to broadcasting, media and heritage to name a few. He was delighted to find VIEW members out in the community. We will be there in force again in 2025.

2023 Monster Garage Sale
2023 Fundraising was very successful with a Monster Garage Sale, held over the weekend of 25-26th March in Member, Jen's garden. Members collected a mountain of preloved items to sell and we were blessed with perfect weather one day, and the skies opened the next!! One Member donated valuable items on Marketplace prior to the weekend, and raised $1,000 from the donations.
Member Judy, had a prescheduled clothing sale organised at her home the same week and donated all proceeds to TSF. Unsold items were delivered to local Op Shops. The weekend was only possible by the superb effort of Members and their partners.
